Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Carly attended the University of Vermont and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in global studies and economics. After a short stint on the east coast, she found her way to Utah, where she spent summers working as a field guide for Aspiro. Carly went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah and believes that the challenging and nurturing atmosphere in the wilderness offers a valuable ground for personal growth.
Carly also brings a wealth of previous experience working with families. She focuses on creating and strengthening healthy boundaries, facilitating closeness, and building cohesion. Carly works effectively as an intermediary between family members and uses this position to establish better lines of communication.
As a former guide, Carly brings a unique authenticity to her approach to wilderness therapy. She knows what it’s like to be out in the wilderness with students and uses this knowledge to build rapport with her clients. As a result, Carly is exceptionally skilled at building relationships with her clients and often gets through to them where others have failed.
Carly loves exploring the diverse landscapes of Utah through mountain biking and backcountry skiing. She also enjoys tending to her vegetable garden and cooking for her family and friends.
